You will be either RGN or ODP qualified with at least five years experience working at a senior level in a UK theatre. You will have a demonstrable track record, and a natural flair for providing and facilitating appropriate training for all staff within the theatre environment. It will be part of your role to ensure that good clinical practice is consistently delivered and to promote the well being of all patients and theatre personnel. You will have a comprehensive clinical background and excellent communication skills to be able to assume a close working relationship with the Senior Management Team, the Theatre, Cath Lab & Cardiology teams and Consultant staff.

Pulse International is looking for a Clinical Nurse Leader for the Paediatric Cardiac Theatres of an exciting new healthcare project in Qatar.

Scheduled to open in 2013, the Sidra Medical and Research centre will offer the latest technology and equipment to meet world-class standards in patient care, medical education and biomedical research. There will be a sophisticated clinical and translational research programme, general adult medical and surgical services and specialty care for women and children. The centre will be a teaching venue for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College – a branch of the prestigious Ivy League university in New York.

The Clinical Nurse Leader, Paediatric Theatres, will play a major role in the planning and development of this department and, after the centre opens, will take on a senior operational role.

The successful candidate will be a western-trained Registered Nurse holding a Master’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent in terms of education and experience),and with a post-registration qualification in peri-operative nursing. The following would be an advantage:

• Experience with design & planning for Cardiac hybrid suites
• Experience in CIS systems build for Peri-operative Services
• Familiarity with Joint Commission International (JCI) standards

This role will include working to a rota system covering early/ day/ evening shifts and Saturday working dependent upon theatre activity. After a qualifying period you will also be required to participate in the departmental on call rota.
