Patient care is consultant led but we have a team of Resident Medical Officers based on the unit 24/7 and we are also supported by a critical care outreach team who support deteriorating patients.

Job Description

As the Theatre Informatics Facilitator you will work in liaison with the Theatre co-ordinators, participate in the provision of accurate and timely data. Provide effective support and liaison for clinical staff within the Operating Theatre environment, ensuring competence and compliance with the enhanced and developing Meditech ORM system and supporting further system and hardware developments.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, with a range of shift patterns to meet the needs of the department.

The attractive and competitive salary for this role is between £33,496 and £35,500 and will dependent on skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake and assist other theatre staff in the patient profile and revenue capture process, ensuring high degrees of accuracy and timeliness. Ensure a print off of these is undertaken daily and items checked for completeness.
  • Request implant codes for first time use.
  • Set up new procedure costs and link these to Billing
  • Review daily revenue charges
  • Review reports and act upon the information
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Preference Cards
  • Liaise with Billing Office and resolve queries
  • Audit un-captured charges and follow up relevant reports in a timely way

Skills & Experience

  • Registered Nurse or ODP
    Substantive experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience of using clinical IT systems
  • Previous involvement in supporting education/training
  • Previous experience in mentoring others
