You’ll work as part of a close knit team providing excellent patient focussed care within the Operating Theatres/Scrubs Team. You’ll be a caring and compassionate nurse, delivering a high standard of care to our patients. We value all of our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.

What you'll be doing
Assisting in the positioning and preparation of a patient as directed by the surgical team and ensuring that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory.
Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures and asepsis.
Participating in induction and orientation programmes for new staff to ensure a welcoming environment.
Assisting the team leaders in the Personal Development Plans of junior staff
Preparing patients for clinical/ operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
Providing assistance in clinical/ operative procedures, both anaesthetics and surgery.
Providing immediate post-operative care.
Providing initial emergency care as required
Taking charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner ensuring patient, visitors and staff safety.
Ensuring all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported to the Operating Theatre Co-ordinator

Who we’re looking for?

NMC Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years experience
Experience working within an acute hospital setting
Experience working within Scrubs, General and Orthopaedics
Team player
Excellent communication and organisational skills
