Are you curious about a career within a commercial healthcare company, as a clinical education and training specialist?

If you feel you have good people skills, and want to progress your career quickly whilst keeping your current operating theatre skills, this could be a good career move forward for you. If you want to become a specialist within a niche clinical product area and devote all of your time to being a trainer, guiding and mentoring surgeons and being fully responsible for proctoring cases, please use Apply Now to contact Karen Griffin RGN at Silchester Associates to discuss how this can happen.

It is certainly a minefield out there as to the assortment of roles available. Currently we have circa 12, with another 9 booked for later in the year. Clinical Trainer roles differ enormously. Some have sales responsibility, some none. We also specialise in dual roles, where you can conduct the demonstration and clinical interface, and then be trained to follow through with the order. Many of our clients like to hire just one person to do both the pre sales demo and the post sales follow up. Some clients want to hire a Surgical Specialist, and then fast track them to a career in clinical / patient pathway management, marketing, business development etc. Some ODPs and operating theatre nurses stay in a pure clinical training role for many years and have a fabulous career.

All the clinicians that we have worked with over the years have had questions such as: Whether to join a large or small medical products company? What does a typical week consist of? What will be expected of me? Will my registration been supported? It is rather like diving into the unknown, but we are here to guide you through what to expect, so if you do make a transition, it’s a good one, and you don’t regret it.

We have been helping ODPs and Operating Theatre Nurses with their choices of career opportunity for many years. If you would like to know more about what is out there, on a non-committal and confidential basis, with a fellow nurse, please Apply Now to organise.

I have regular monthly ‘career advice’ clinics that outline all the choices. This month’s niche projects include AAA, Endo-surgery, Abdominal Closure; Interventional and Peripheral Radiology, and (as always) General Surgery. I look forward to hearing from you.
