Spire St Anthony’s Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Operating Theatre Manager to join our experienced team and help lead and support the continual growth and development of the service within our brand new state of the art Operating Theatre Department.

Last year we completed plans to expand Spire St Anthony’s Hospital with a £60 million investment into a state-of-the-art physiotherapy centre, 6 new Operating Theatres and a 9 bedded Recovery Suite, an enlarged Sterile Services department and dedicated Paediatric facilities. This allows us to broaden our cardiac surgery programme, supported by a Level 3 Intensive Care and Cardiac Cath Lab as well as introduce Neurosurgery to our list of specialities.

Duties and responsibilities
Supporting the Operating Theatre manager, you will help oversee the 40+ strong team of ODPs and Nurses with responsibility for the day to day standards and ongoing Education of all staff across the department, also working closely with their colleagues in the Cath Lab and ITU. You will also support in helping to maintain and improve the Hospitals CQC status and have overall responsibility for the department’s general standards.

The Hospital covers a wide variety of surgical procedures including; Paediatrics, Cardiac, Urology, Gynae, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Max fax, General, Spinal and Neuro, Vascular and Plastics. The Hospital boasts 6 recently upgraded Theatre Suites including a state of the art Hybrid Theatre.

You will help provide exemplary planned care for patients requiring perioperative intervention and have the opportunity to continue developing your own skills working clinically across the department as part of the team’s rota.

Who we're looking for
You will have an RN or ODP qualification with current NMC/HCPC registration. Ideally you will also have a Surgical First Assistant qualification or successful assessment of AfPP competencies as per Clinical Policy 25. Previous supervisory experience and a Management qualification would also be very desirable.
